Graduate Assistant Unity Center Training/Education

Full-Time (20 Hours Per Week)

Primary Purpose

Training/Education position is meant to support in staying up to date and increasing our offerings to student leaders across campus around marginalized identities and social justice. With support of professional staff, this position will create a curriculum that will be given to student leaders and offered throughout the semester to support education to the wider RIC student body.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Student Programmer Associates’ work year-round.
  • In conjunction with professional staff, develop research-based training around marginalized identities.
  • Create a curriculum for student leaders to learn about marginalized identities.
  • Support in the execution of those programs.
  • Represent the Unity Center at college wide events, service fairs, orientation and tabling opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Strong oral communication skills (public speaking); self-motivated, reliable, dependable, punctual ● Comfortable with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint), One Drive, and Excel.
  • Able to work independently or as a team; work within deadlines; organized.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Unity Center on and off campus; have a passion for social justice, equity and inclusion.

2025-2026 Year

  • Job Orientation and training will take place in person in late August.
  • 300 hours a semester scheduled during regular working hours (M-F, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM)
